Green has always been a contradiction. Symbol of nature, freshness, health, and hygiene, green is also the unstable color of youth, hope, money, and gambling. It is often allied with superstition and mystery, while being the color of permission. The multiple facets of green make it a color rich in history from the pine green of Georgia to the bright green style of Empire, to the yellow green of the American independence. Color of elegance with the green of Jade, it remains associated with relaxation and serenity. It completes offices and studies with success, while white reinforces its natural appeal.
Blue is the preferred color of the Occidental world. Blue relaxes and gathers, but lack of symbolism makes it the most neutral of all colors. Warm color during the medieval ages and during the Renaissance, blue got its rank of cold color in the 19th century, and then was progressively associated with water. Its numerous hues and the ease with which it combines with other colors make it always popular among decorators.. Classical when associated with white, it becomes dynamic with yellow, deeper with its opposite color red, and a companion to green.
